DO I NEED TO RUN DOLBY AUDIO X2 TV
It has also just occurred to me that I would probably need some form of amp with my TV setup anyway so that I can actually adjust volume on the headphones? Is that right? I assume then I will have to get up from the couch and adjust volume manually as there won't be a remote. Thanks everyone for your help, I am slowly learning some of the ins and out of this! The solution would be a different headphone, one with higher ohms, such as a DT990 250ohm,or an HD600.If your heart and ears are set on an X2 and you want to get a basic amp/DAC,like what Purple Angel suggested would work.Personally Id opt for Magni/Modi myself, but I guess it depends on your budget too. However the HP jack of AVRs often have too high of resistor in place and easy to drive headphones, like the X2 can sound bloated. Not always, but often. I want them to perform well.Īt the end of the day an X2 can be driven from a mobile phone or the HP jack of your laptop, they really dont need much.An AVR would be the best way to tackle this problem on a few fronts, namely flexibility and future proofing. You could run both your computer and TV into an AVR and use the AVR as an amp. What would you recommend so that they don't sound bloated and perform well? I am certainly looking for the most practical solution but not at the expense of the phones' sound being noticeably affected. Those are very basic entry level products, that will work, but will be quite limiting in its ability to drive other headphones(should you choose to upgrade) and add sources. You need to be able to plug the X2s(or any HP) into something.an amp,amp/dac,AVR.something.Īre these the particular products you would recommend to pair with the Fidelio X2 and TV or are these more the starting point? Sure but where is that RCA being plugged into? If your TV has no HP in jack, then the audio it produces has to be sent somewhere via an RCA/or Optical. There appears to be a number of ways I could go with this - but could you firstly tell me what is the bare necessity to get them to work with the TV, so that I understand? I was under the impression that bare necessity would be something in the form of a RCA or optical to 3.5mm converter. Thank you both for your guidance, appreciate it. So my main question is - what do I need to make the Fidelio X2 perform properly on my TV? Do i simply need some sort of RCA/3.5mm converter or optical/3.5mm converter and then it will work and perform well? Or should I be getting some sort of receiver or DAC/amp to put them through?Īny help would be appreciated, very confused! My TV does not have a headphone jack, but it has RCA jacks, HDMI and digital audio (optical) out. (To be perfectly honest though, I still don't even understand what a DAC is.) I have read that these cans don't necessarily need a DAC / amp. However, I am completely confused about what I need to make these work optimally on on my TV and/or PC. I have pretty much settled on the Fidelio X2 - they sound like they are exactly what I am after. I will be using them with my Samsung Smart TV and also my desktop PC. I have been researching these forums (and elsewhere) for headphones to be used primarily for watching movies (also some gaming, some music).
